With the new screen on smart phones, web sites that previously looked good now look tiny.
The solution is using viewports. This article explains how to do this for an iPhone but this will work for any mobile device with the new style screens.
Some may complain about browser versions being different. Some may say you cannot possibly create them as browser versions keep changing.

Matthew Taylor is not one to make those excuses, he just does. I was searching around and found this article that gives you some basic multi-column liquid layouts. They will not do it all for you but they will start you off well. Check out Matthew's article on the ultimate multi column liquid layouts you won't be disappointed.
This places all the css in the wrapper div.

Here is the link to the full article: http://davidwalsh.name/horizontally-center-website-structure-css

2) The "simple bits" method. This method centers the body tag and uses the div to left align the content. Rory Tatum showed me this years ago. You are most likely not going to use it in your styles so it will really stand out on your page.

So follow the steps in this article but remember to replace the color specified with lime green.

http://24ways.org/2007/diagnostic-styling

If you have any css tips, tricks, resources email them to Susan Fischer at susan@clinchportal.com and we will post them.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4831058058167238618.post-13666191894543983462008-05-29T08:44:00.000-07:002008-05-29T08:45:59.311-07:0030+ Firefox Add-ons for Web Developers & Designers
Someone sent me a link to this and it has some really good firefox addins for css and other web developer tasks I thought I would pass it on.

http://mashable.com/2007/08/27/30-firefox-add-ons-for-web-developers-designers/
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4831058058167238618.post-36833005904110020922008-05-02T10:11:00.001-07:002008-05-02T10:11:31.655-07:00Perpetual BeginnerFor those just learning some of the newer technologies such as subsonic, linq, mvc, etc this is going to be fast becoming the place to go.
